In line with the sustainable development theme adopted in Kai Tak Development, we promote Kowloon East as a green community with low carbon building design. We are taking the lead to employ low carbon and sustainable design concept in government projects. For private developments, we specify in the lease conditions for new developments to achieve Gold or above rating under BEAM Plus New Buildings (NB) and to provide more extensive soft landscape coverage.
Other than new buildings, existing buildings and converted buildings in Kowloon East are also encouraged to adopt measures to reduce carbon emissions and energy consumption, so as to establish a green community in Kowloon East.
