Design Competition for the Transformation of Sensory Garden at Kwun Tong Promenade

Kwun Tong Promenade Phase 2 has become a popular public open space since its opening in May 2015. Part of the Promenade, known as Sensory Garden and located next to the children's play area underneath the Kwun Tong Bypass, has deteriorated after serving the public for more than six years, in particular some sensory installations that need frequent maintenance. Therefore, the EKEO and the Hong Kong Institute of Architects are running a design competition to collect creative ideas to give a new image to the garden for its continuous service to the community.

In order to meet the needs of the community across different sectors, we collected public opinions on the proposed transformation of the Sensory Garden via a workshop and questionnaires, which also served as a reference for the design competition. The "Public Engagement Workshop on the Design of Sensory Garden beneath the Flyover" was conducted on 11 September 2021. A Design Competition for Transformation of Sensory Garden at Kwun Tong Promenade was launched in December 2021 and the result was announced on 14 June 2022.  For further detail, please visit:
